Happy New Year! Here’s to a great 2009!
One of my resolutions the past few years has been to try to do something news-worthy (though nothing notorious) during the year. 2008 was a bit of a bumper year with PS3iPlayer, O:SC and Sackbook getting mentioned by purveyors of fine tech and gaming news, so this year I’m going to cheat a little and reserve Sackbook (Strikes Back) to 2009.
For those waiting for an update on what’s happening with Sackbook; I’m afraid I can’t give any firm timescales as to when the site will be up and running – things move slowly at this time of year (everyone is too full of good nosh). However I have been using my time between scoffing turkey sandwiches and mince pies productively to get some funky new features on the site. Here’s a sneak peak of a couple:

Nice to hear you’re getting somewhere with the site. Hope everything works out!
Happy New Year!
I wish I could’ve seen the site before it went down…it sounded really awesome. I hope it gets back up soon!
I am glad to hear that progress is being made on restoring sackbook. I thought of something you could add, but I don’t know if it is there already or not because I didn’t get to look around a lot before it was taken down, but you could look into putting a random level feature onto it where someone could do something like put in a tag or rating and they are given a random level. I personally hate trying to pick a level to play with just the in game search, and random would be a good option for everyone because it increases the chances that their level would get played at least once in awhile.
Hi Joseph,
Nice idea – sounds a bit like Google’s “I’m feeling lucky…” button – although I think that picks the first result, whereas this would pick a random level from the first couple of pages. Maybe it should be “I’m feeling plucky…”
It is good to hear that sackbook isn’t entirely dead. I didn’t even get a chance to join before Big Boss shut you down
